Hi, I'm Gary Gustafson. I cut my teeth in the powersports industry handling electrical design and general problem solving on the engineering teams that launched the Polaris Ranger and Polaris Sportsman lines in the 1990s. I started at Polaris when there were just 2 assembly lines -- 1 for snowmobiles and 1 for ATVs. Victory and Indian Motorcycles weren't on anyone's radar yet and the only factory was in Roseau. Management hoped that they might sell 5,000 to 10,000 Rangers per year some day (!), which was accomplished when we launched the Ranger Series 10 platform. From there I switched to serving as an Electrical Engineering Supervisor for Arctic Cat snowmobiles. While working for these companies in Northern Minnesota I developed a real passion for the experiences that powersports vehicles can give us.
After spending 13 years at market leaders Polaris and Arctic Cat, I established G-Force Consulting in 2005 in response to an overwhelming need for consulting help in the Powersports manufacturing marketplace. I work with suppliers that want to land OEM accounts, aftermarket brands that want to hit the bullseye with a new product, and corporations looking to expand via acquisition. I help identify hot new technologies, provide competitive analysis of the players in a certain market and offer best practices for a broad variety of business disciplines in this space. There is no need for enterprises to learn everything "the hard way".For more assurance, please visit my Success Stories or G-Force Consulting In The Media pages.
As President of G-Force Consulting, I have enjoyed success in business consulting for companies including Continental Automotive, E-Z-GO, Borg Warner, Bosch, Yuasa and literally dozens more. I've authored hundreds of industry-specific articles, contributed to a number of game-changing ATV and Snowmobile development programs, increased advertising revenues by more than 100% for various outdoors publications, been a pioneer in the electric and Hybrid UTV industry, and advised on the acquisitions and start-ups of 40+ (and counting) powersports OEMs and Suppliers. I specialize in component market research and I offer industry-leading component reports on batteries, traction motors and much more.
I hold two United States Patents----#7,002,454 and #7,278,511 with more pending. I am a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Motorcycle Industry Council.
